The World Premiere of The Nutcracker's Winter Circus launched at Sandton City Shopping Centre, South Africa in December 2018 with a return season in 2019, taking over 46 000 patrons on a whimsical theatrical adventure.
Created specifically for shopping mall environments, The Nutcracker’s Winter Circus is a fairy-tale fit for the whole family, set in a spectacular winter themed circus tent. It's mysterious and magical, with a menagerie of fun and fantastical creatures. Enchanting children and adults alike with an ensemble of acclaimed artists in an original theatrical circus.
Weird and wonderful, The Nutcracker’s Winter Circus pairs the artistry of storytelling with impressive physical theatre, puppetry, mascots, acrobatics and a handful of ballet classics performed by coveted soloists to a re-arranged musical suite based on Tchaikovsky’s famous score.
Featuring a rich tapestry of magic and interactive illusion, this is the first time that The Nutcracker has been translated into a theatrical circus.
